Edited: And also it's a 2 gig high speed card so I would rather not just dump it and also I can't find the tab so I would have to make do with a subsitute...to those with jamming ideas, in what direction (and is it the spring that I should be) jamming?
Try to use some pliers or some tweezers to pick that tab and put into write mode again.
Worst case.... buy another SD card. They are very cheap now and is going down in price. They are selling 256mb for less than $20 in most big name places like Fry's electronics or some reputable Internet superstore.
