Lock File
I'm bringing a locked file cabinet with me to work. How can I tell if anyone tries to mess with the lock???
I am a nail tech and I think my products and my nail drill have been messed with. 
As a locksmith, I have to ask is it a padlock or built-in.
If it is a padlock of your own choosing, buy a good one incorporating anti-pick features by a reputable company.
Those by abloy / baton that use a half-moon keyway are particularly good against picking.
If it is built-in.... Paint it - at least the front. Most picking attempts will leave scratches as a tell-tale.
If your stuff is still messed with, use a strong epoxy or nuts and bolts to put another hasp on it and use a padlock as described above.
You can always use a bike lock through the handles, or a cable arrangement.
You can also fit a basic alarm with a keypad in there !

changing the extenion will hide the file? how to lock a selected file?
I have got N86 mobile
you can lock the memory card but not any specific file or folder in your phone, especially when it doesnt have that feature. once you unlock the memory card, everything is viewable.
try putting security code in your keylock apps.

Without knowing the program you used to lock the original folder, it's pretty hard for us to tell how it hides folders. If it's a real good program it is going to even hide them from Windows views.
Have you tried to unlock the original folder you locked? That is where I would start. Look at the instructions carefully and determine if there is something you are supposed to do to unlock sub-folders.
If none of that works you can try a freeware program like restoration.exe that will look for all files that are deleted, that might be the technique they use to hide the files.
But if you are stuck after doing the unlock, I suggest you edit your post and add the name of the program you used, so people who might be familiar with it can tell you how to fix the problem.
