09 Chevy HHR - Turn off Auto Saefty/Dome Light Features?
Ok, I got a new 09 HHR in Cash for Clunkers but now its frustrating because its a little too overboard on the safety features. For instance, I put a heavy box on the passenger seat and it beeped the whole way home because it wanted to have it buckled up due to the sensor in the seat. Also, if you lock the car with the remote clicker but unlock it with the key in the door, the car alarm goes off and vice versa. Also, if I turn off the car open the door and try to lock the car from the inside with the door button, it won't lock! Plus whenever you put it in drive it auto locks the doors (quite annoying). Is there any way to change these things?
Also, I was on a camping trip and the dome lights stay on the entire time any door is open and wont turn off. There is no way to turn them off either as there is no dome override on the dash!
I looked in the manual for ways to go around these things but nothings in there. Does anyone know how to change these things?
not sure about the safety features, but in my 2001 Silverado, there is a button near the switch for the headlights called "dome override." hit it once and the dome light might turn off, can't really say since yours is a much newer Chevy. but when i hit my dome override button 4 times, it turns off the 'daytime running lamps,' or, the headlights don't come on or go off automatically. the headlights are yours to control... so maybe the safety features can be deactivated as well?
