Do you feel any safer now than years ago.?
We've been told how the increased surveilance and data compilation is for our protection and safety....really?
Well do you feel that it is actually the case and does it work for you.
Or do you feel inclined to carry a gun or similar (if permissable in law) to feel safe when walking the streets.
Because the police seem to follow that practice, but we don't have the same choice to protect ourselves.
Heck....the school kids even feel the need against their own class mates.
They say school for learning...and they're learning fast that their security rests with them and not to rely on the framework of the law.
Not to be short but NO... NO... NO...
Not only do I feel less safe from foreign dangers that Bush has inflamed more, I also feel less safe against my own country's rights... like if I speak out, Big Brother is watching.

What should I do about my best mate?
Last night my best mates brother got arrested for possession of illegal drugs. I've known by best mate since we were very little and we're such good mates, we could be brothers. His older brother is also really safe. He always backed us whenever we needed him, so I was really shocked and upset when I heard that he got arrested. I was out with my mates today and my best mate was silent. I thought he was upset, but he goes then asked me to come to the side. We went into this alley and he pulled out a gun. He told me to take, because he was worried the police are going to raid his house for more drugs. I didn't know what to do. I didn't take it then because I said I needed to find some place to hide it in my house, but he wants to give it to me later tonight, in case his house gets raided tonight. I don't want to take it, but I can't leave it with my best mate. What if the police do raid and they find him with it. What should I do?
In situations like these you have to give 'tough love'. Do you want to get a mark on YOUR record? Do you want to go to jail? Or if your under 18 then your parents will get the punishment. Best mate or not, what he has been doing and is doing is illegal and now he is trying to bring you into it. Tell him as your friend that what he is doing is wrong and you will NOT support him in this. It's gonna be hard and he will probably say stuff like- "I thought you were my friend?" But you have to know that you are right in this situation. If HE is really YOUR friend then he wouldn't ask you to hold an illegal gun! Do the right thing and tell him you will NOT HIDE A GUN FOR HIM.
