Media Safes How can I download media player successfully and for free?
Hi all, I have a problem with my media player, I had an old virgin which couldn't run so I downloaded version 11 which refused to run since I had an illegal windows copy "not genuine Microsoft" so I uninstalled the full media program except version 11 files which refused to be uninstalled or even deleted which enabled me to install another copy. Can I repair a windows xp media edition 2005 oem with windows xp home or windows xp pro cd?
Computer with windows xp media edition is now blue screening and rebooting, cannot read blue screen due to reboots. Cannot get into safe mode, last best known configuration does not work. Would prefer to repair instead of restore to factory specs.
You can't repair any form of XP pro with XP home. However, you can repair any form of XP including home with an XP pro cd.
In order to preserve your data and programs, you do not want to reformat or do a clean install.
In general you want to do a repair install and NOT use the repair console.

If you can no longer do a repair install or find it too complicated, DO NOT reformat and reinstall as this will wipe you out and leave you with nothing but the operating system. You would have to reinstall all your programs and much of your data would be inaccessible.
Reimage can repair your system even if a repair install fails. It costs a little but it is well worth it to save your data. It takes about 30 minutes and preserves your programs and data.
