Multi Functional Safety
problems with my electric clothes dryer?
when i turn the start dial i get a buzzing sound and it wont turn on. the tub spins by hand, the door safety switch and light seems to be functional. its a GE 6 cycle xl capacity mod# DBXR463EBOWW, ser# TD739029A. i am a contractor and mechanic so repairing it shouldn't be a problem i just don't know how to diagnose a clothes dryer. i don't want to poke around carelessly and make something worse. i have seen customers do this and it ends up costing them more money. i tell people to never try to fix something they don't understand because they can make matters worse. it hurts me to admit this but i don't want to make that mistake. i have multi meters and just about every tool known to man. can someone give me a idea on where to start. thank you.
@ stephen, voltage coming out of the wall socket was the first thing i checked and the belt was the second. both checked out ok. thanks for you input, any other ideas you may have please edit.
