Night Light
does my beared dragon need a night light for heat during night time hours?
i have a day time light for him but im not sure if he needs a night light for night time hours. he has a heating pad and the day time light is on all day. he seems to want to escape out of the cage as soon as i turn the night light on.
As long as the room is relatively warm (say around 70F or better) and he has a heating pad if he wants it, you shouldn't need any night time lighting. Some dragons are more sensitive than others, but unless a vet recommends using a night light (sometimes the extra warmth can help a sick dragon fight of infection), I'd give him a nice dark place to sleep in a warm room with the option of a heating pad if he wants to crawl over to it.

Weekend Project: Cosmic Night Light
Can I use a night light bulb with a candelabra base in a regular fixture that takes the same base bulb?
I've got a ceiling mounted light that takes candelabra base bulbs up to 60 watts, but it is way too bright. I'm wondering if I can use night light bulbs in it instead if they have the same candelabra base. Thanks!
Yes you can, both bulbs are rated for use on a 120V system {normal household current}, but why don't you try finding the candelabra bulbs in a lower wattage they make them down as low as 15 Watts. If this is still to bright they also come in a soft white version {white glass instead of clear} this will also take away some brightness without diminishing the over all light levels.
