What colors would go with red for my formal living/office?
I have always dreamed of having a home with walls painted different tones of red and now that I finally bought a house I have no clue where to start. But I have decided the largest room of my home is where I will start, and I want a real red not anything with a pink hue or Orange hue either. I just want a really nice red maybe a crimson. But then not a maroon either. And then I don't know with what to accent it. I love the color black with red, but that would be to dark and its going to make that space seem too small. I know that red already is going to do that to the room and I am ok with that. That room also connects to my kitchen and I do plan on having a red kitchen as well. Please Help stuck on what other color to pair with red for this formal room. Im an art major and know a lot about color but I just want to stick with complementary like maybe an olive, but my husbands not into that color combination.
Different tones of blue, light brown, white,. You really don't want to put dark with dark b/c the color on your walls actually can have an effect on your mood if you ever seen HGTV it talks about things like that.
