i just moved into and apartment but i wanted a patio i dont have one, the unit is awful. ?
I want to write a letter to the management stating that i would like another unit with the patio. And also i'm on the basement floor with 2 kids, Its just no safe for me and my two boys. I'm single and alone with 2 kids there. What can i do. How can i start off my letter.The lady at the rental office tried to charge me more for my first month rent until i caught it and gave her called i feel like i was being taken advantage b/c i'm first time renter. And still ha vent sign my least.B/c of her mistakes
So without a signed lease..you are considered a tenant at will or month to month tenant. State law creates a lease for you in absence of a written one.
You have very little rights there. You can be told to vacate in as little as 30 days....and your rent can be raised every 30 days. A signed lease would protect you in these cases.
Educate yourself on your state landlord/tenant laws BEFORE you go off and start demanding things from management. They may just decide your not worth the trouble and send you a notice to vacate.
