Oven Cleaner
What is the best way to clean my oven? Any recommendations for a really good oven cleaner?
I haven't cleaned my oven in a long time, so it needs some heavy duty stuff.
Go to the Dollar Store and buy the cheapest cans of spray oven cleaner. It will save you money in the long run and you probably won't have to use as much as you think you do. I did it and it only cost me 3 dollars and I have only cleaned my oven once.
Or you can get some "Purple Stuff" about $6.00/gal in the automotive section of Walmart or some place like that. That will eat its way through anything given time.
Coca Cola Classic eats rust off of nails.... who could say what it would do to the stuff in your oven. (Imagine what it does to one's insides after a while.)

Easy Off Oven Cleaner TV Commercial
Best oven cleaner for restoring an old stove?
I inherited an old stove that I would like to restore, well just get it looking clean again. Anyways, what is a good "industrial strength" oven cleaner? This stove has stubborn OLD baked on grease on the brushed steel top, on the built in griddle, and inside the 2nd oven's interior (dark with grey specs). I bought some regular oven cleaner but it just didn't cut it, any ideas on what the "professional oven restorers" use? Or have you had any luck with a specific product? Anything would help, thanks so much!
oops, the 2nd oven does not have a porcelain Interior, I'm not sure what to call it, but it has a heavy textured surface with white specs, very rough. The main oven is porcelain and that has been the easiest thing to clean so far.

You turned the Oven Selector Setting to Clean (vs Bake, Broil, etc)? You should also have turned the Temperature Setting to "Clean" as well. Make sure the door is Locked. Hopefully, you can then set the Start and Stop times to work properly as well.
Also….if oven cleaners are used in Self Cleaning Ovens it can damage the Self Cleaning feature. So perhaps the previous owners used Oven Clearner? Hope not.
