Why did Bush make up the SURGE, instead of just admitting he attacked the Iraqis with too small of a force???
Remember in December of 2006 when Bush explained how he needed 21,000 troops to live in 21 police stations with Iraqi security forces. Remember how they would work together and secure Baghdad.
Why didn't he just say we need 100,000 more men or we will get our a**es kicked.
Now that we have peace in Iraq and the Green Zone only gets attacked a few times a day it is easy to say the Surge worked.
Should the troops start packing their gear now or wait 16 months.

Bush knows he's a lame duck president and probably doesn't want to do anything stupid in the next few months. And we really don't know what would happen if we left know. there then if would give the terrorists an easier time getting back to the way things were.

Criminal Record?
My brother got in trouble two years ago. He got caught shoplifting a pack of batteries from a zellers in the mall. He was just over 18. The security guard arrested him, made him sign a bunch of papers saying he was banned from the mall and he had to pay a 500 fine later on to zellers. He called the RCMP and a police officer came and said he would let him go this time but he was going to write a report saying that if my bro does it again he should be charged. I was wondering does my brother have a criminal record now and does this follow him for the rest of his life or will the report be purged from the system after a few years? The police did not take his fingerprints and we live in Canada. Thank you for your answers.
