Panic Button Alarm
2000 Plymouth Neon - Alarm/ Panic system?
The built in car alarm on my neon is way too sensitive. If activated, the alarm will go off with seemingly little provocation. A strong gust of wind at the most. I've had it go off in the middle of an empty parking lot with no cars around. I resolve this by manually locking the doors instead of hitting the automatic lock button as to not activate the system. Is there any way to manually adjust the sensitivity or to deactivate the feature so I can still use my keyfob to lock the doors? The car didn't come with an owner's manual.
And please don't waste my time and yours by ragging on the car or telling me what a POS it is. I know this already but I'm stuck with it for now so I can't take the advice to get rid of it and go buy a better car. I appreciate your genuine advice on this matter. Thanks!

How do i stop my car alarm that goes off randomly on my '97 mercury sable?
I bought my car almost two years ago and found out on the first night that the alarm goes off at random times. First it went off at 3am and again at 5. It happens very randomly and my only solution has been to not lock my doors. My car has the key less entry system with buttons on the door. When the alarm goes off I just use my panic button to disengage it. My problem now is that I need to sell my car and I don't want this to be an issue for the next person. Plus no one would want a car they have to leave unlocked or the alarm goes off randomly. Is there a way to turn off the panic button alarm/key-less entry?
Have the system disabled or removed on most used cars sold if they have an alarm and offer a warranty the system will be removed unless they installed it.
