how to get rid of pav? it blocks my internet connection!?
im trying to get rid of personal antivirus. it blocked out my access to the internet and i need a anivirus. i tried malwarebytes. i saved it to a flashdrive and tried on the infected computer but it didnt work.
i need to know 2 things:
1. will the internet work in safemode?
2. i heard of a portable thing called "norman" but i dont know if it is safe. if it is, is it free?
*because so i can save it to a flash drive and run it on the other cmputeer.

When I copy my harddrive contents onto a personal harddrive, are my files absolutely safe? I am wondering whe-
ther a virus can affect my computer harddrive AND my extra insertable harddrive at the same time. Or if I copy a file from my computer harddrive that has a virus in it to my portable personal harddrive, can I infect it too?
I have had a virus that wiped out everything on my desktop, and I am trying to understand whether such a virus can also affect my extra harddrive. I am not sure that I am explaining it very well, but if you understand me, please reply.

It is very possible to infect both at the same time. Some viruses are really nasty and can propagate easily and at the same time be very difficult to remove. It would be wiser to run an up-to-date antivirus program such as AVG, to fully scan the computer and remove any troublesome files found after the scan. Personally I would also run ADAWARE 2007 and SPYBOT 1.5 as these two programs also would remove any adware, spyware, malware and other nasty programs. Those two programs and AVG may be found on download.com.
Only after all the programs come up clean would I consider backing up my important files to another hard drive or even better a CD-ROM or DVD ROM, just to prevent any copying of the infected files.
