What are safe personal care products?
Recently I've been hearing about all those carcinogens and toxic materials in personal care products-shampoo, cosmetics, shaving cream, etc.-in the big name brands especially, like Pantene and L'OREAL. I was just wondering, what brands are completely safe? Are there any at all? I know that basically every big name brand isn't safe, but are there any obscure ones that are? And I'm talking about everything from shampoo to toothpaste, so any information would be helpful. Thank you!
IF you go to whole foods there are entire aisles of products that have natural ingredients. I like Burt's Bees products but there are many others. Read the labels and try a few. Some are great some are not.

as an alumna of the very same women's college, can i just say: thank heavens for you. everyone, male and female, has a lot to learn about appropriate ways to intervene. there is a huge reluctance to get involved when you're getting a bad vibe from a situation — people don't trust their instincts. i've witnessed situations i wish i had called out. i've been on the receiving end of behaviors and actions that i wish someone else had called out. i wish i'd had more guidance about how to do that; i wish everyone had more guidance about how to do that.
regardless of the merits and demerits of offering personal safety tips to women, i think everyone can agree that “if it looks sketchy, SPEAK UP” is good advice.
