how can i speed up vista's boot up and start up?
im running a
*windows vista ultimate x86 on an
*amd athlon 3200+ 64
*1g ram (512mb x 2)
*256mb 128 bit ati radeon video card
*410gb hard disk storage
i have
*avira antivir security suite
*boclean
as my anti virus and anti malware programs
these memory eaters are also included on my start up
*objectdock plus
*yod'm 3d
*yahoo messenger
*windows live messenger
im using these programs to optimize my system
*cc cleaner
*advanced windows cleaner v2 personal
*glary utilities
*registry mechanic
*yamicsoft's vista manager
everything is working well (for now) but im still not contented with my boot up and start up performance...
*my boot up took 50 seconds until d windows vista orb appeared
*my start up took 1:50+ to load all start up programs
is that too slow or is it okay with my current specs?
can any1 advice me how to speed them up a little bit?
go into msconfig startup and turn off the programs you dont need starting up and running all the time such as your yahoo.
Your "optimizers" are basically doing nothing but eatting up resources because a system that takes almost 2 minutes to boot isn't what I would call optimized! Get another gig of ram.

How can we protect ourselves from identity theft?
My mother-in-law had a storage unit broken into that contained personal information of my husband's (social security number, doctors bills, etc.)
Why she had it, we have no idea.
Since we don't know what was stolen or by whom, how can we protect ourselves before something happens??
