If you put a 150 watt high pressure sodium bulb into the ceiling socket in the living room, will it...?
...give out as much light as it was intended to?
(I know that these are used as grow lights.)
Okay, how about a 70 watt high pressure sodium bulb?
that high of a wattage is too much 4 a standard ceiling light. u wood need a fixture designed 4 such a bulb.

Low Pressure Sodium Lamp
What should be the correct voltage going to the bulb of a high pressure sodium 100 watt lamp.?
I need to know the proper voltage the ballast supplies coming out of a s54 ballast for a 100 watt high pressure sodium bulb. Presently I am getting about 130 volts but the light does not work even after replacing the bulb.

Do you have the right voltage going into the ballast? Read and make sure of that, the ballast can work at different voltages from 480V, 277V, 120V, 208 V, so which do you have? and others
Could be a bad ballast, but check and make sure you are not putting a 277 V ballest on a 208 V System.
