Rack Display Gunsafe
If there is a gun in your home is it kept secure ??
By secure I mean locked in a rack or gunsafe which prevents ot being easily removed, and is the ammunition kept secured seperate from the weapon(s)?
In a locked display with a glass door is not secure !
Absolutely. The hand guns are kept locked in a fire proof safe - the only way to open it is to know the combination - those are loaded as my husband takes them with him everyday when he leaves for work, and then locks them back up in the safe when he gets home. All rifles are kept up on racks and unloaded. Ammo for most of them is in an entirely separate building, with the exception of the 22. The ammo for it is accessible only to tall adults, but kept separate (and in a secret place) from the firearm. I need quick access to ammo for the 22, in situations (for instance) when I have to scare coyotes away from my outdoor animals. As for intruders in the house:) I wouldn't want to shoot inside as I'm afraid a bullet will ricochet and hit one of the kids - luckily I know how to make effective use of a butt stock!
