boss resistant to change?
Hey guys
My work really annoys me sometimes, we have nothing to do (legal secretaries in a small firm) and the boss knows it, he is a bit of a control freak and won't relinquish a lot of the duties he is supposed to pass down to us, then he gets snowed under but won't give us any responsibility. He then asks how we can make things more efficient and we give ideas but he just shoots them down. I am working on windows 98 and a computer with no sound! We are so far behind the technology it isn't funny! I suggested he let us have electronic diaries (eg on the computer) for reminder systems because paper diaries are just so outdated and cumbersome. He doesn't want to know about it. He is always asking us to do stuff and come up with new ideas but doesn't bother looking at them or giving reasons why he doesn't want to do it. It makes me so apathetic towards my work. Do you think this makes me a bad worker that I just feel like giving up sometimes?!

Hi, I live in the UK (im in year 9) and need help with my options for next year. Im basically good at everything and dont have a favourite subject.
In my school we have compulsary subjects which are Maths, English, Science, RE, PE and Careers.
So far i have chosen Geography and ICT AS with a French GSCE course. I have to choose another subject...
either...
History, Drama, Music, Art, Electronic Products, Food Technology, Photography, Resistant materials, Textiles, Graphic Products or GSCE PE...
Im basically stuck between History, Art, Photography and Graphics.
The thing that im worried about is that if i take History, all of my subjects will be really academic and i wont have a lesson for the next 2 years in which i could just relax.
Any help really appreciated and other options will be considered. Thanks sooo much!! x
I thought the same so I chose Art but it was really difficult and I hated it (I am useless at art though, if it's something your good at you'll enjoy it) I liked History but it's something that interests me, you should talk to your teachers about what each subject involves and whether they think you'll like it, if I'd known more about the subjects I took I would've chose different ones.
