Safe Digital Is it safe to travel with a digital SLR?
I'm going to Europe this summer, and i love taking pictures, but i'm scared of taking my Nikon D70, what are the chances of it getting stolen? i'd be careful with it, but i also don't want to have to worry about it all the time on my trip..any help? I'm going to germany, paris, and london. What if i stay in a hostel? would someone take it there?
Just keep it around your neck and you should be fine. You have as much of a chance of it getting stolen in Europe than you do in any big city in the States. I've taken my digital camera everywhere and have never had a problem. Just be aware of your surroundings; especially in Rome.
All of the cities that you are staying at have about the same rate of crime. You should never leave anything valuable in a hostel. I usually leave my clothes there, but nothing else.

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Safe Sync (safe voltage syncs adapter) is an adapter for linking a digital camera to an external flash. It was designed for use with digital cameras that have a hot shoe on top of the camera body or have a PC connection terminal on the camera body. Almost all digital cameras cannot accept a high sync voltage from an external flash or hot shoe mounted flash connected to the digital camera. The safe voltage sync adapter lowers the sync voltage used by the external camera flash to a level that is safe for digital cameras. Is it safe to change lenses on a Digital SLR when the camera is on?
I have a Canon XTi. I was changing lenses and my friend said that if I do that without turning the camera on, it attracts dust and can harm my camera. His photography teacher told him this. I looked thru my manuals and saw no mention of this. Anyone know anything about this?
Here's why:
"On some cameras the sensor has an electric charge that will actually attract dust to it like a magnet."
We once had an impassioned office manager at the NZ Masters Games Office who lived for the thought of a paperless office. So long as someone is keeping the council record in a safe digital state, backed up to hell as is typical for a large ‘office’, then less paper is possible but not full deletion – since you guys are in the business of supplying information to those without access to laptops, desktops, mobiles, pads and printers for a very long time to come. But it starts small, you don’t need papers for meetings.
so you have a problem, but only when making serious use of the video cards. First step would be to make sure you are using latest drivers from ATI web site. You may have hardware issues though – possibly including overheating – despite what you say – its not the idle temperature you are worried about – what is the 'loaded' temperature? I would expect an idle temperature in the 40 degree range. Also…. are you sure power supply is up to it? That would be the next suspect.
