Is is safe to download anime on a college campus?
I'm currently living in a dorm in one of the UC campuses. So i have to use the internet provided by the school. I use bittorrent and sometimes direct download anime. I heard about people that got sued for downloading things using the school connection. So I wonder if anyone know if it's safe. I've also heard that some people say it is ok to download fansubs as long as it's not a DVD rip.
I agree with Michael, you should ask about it just to be sure..
I think it should be okay though, as long as, like you said, its not a DvD rip, I wouldn't recommend that it be licensed either. If you really wanna be safe, then it should be okay to simply watch anime on a site like Veoh.
If you need any sites for watching anime online, let me know, I have plenty. It might be the safest approach.

How safe are laptops in college dorms?
I am thinking of buying a macbook pro, but I'm worried about it being stolen when I go off to college. Its a large investment for me and I want to protect it. I know there is software to prevent theft, but I don't know how effective it really is.
