Safe Heavy Gauge
Help with Fox-Proofing Duck Pen?
I am thinking about getting back into duck raising. The problem is we are now in town (they allow ducks) and we don't have a dog anymore to scare off critters. Fox, cats, dogs and other varmints have full run of the town and I am wondering, especially about the foxes, how to build a pen safe enough for the ducks.
I am thinking of using heavy gauge, woven wire fencing and having a wooden box for night time. How deep should I sink the wire? Any suggestions on critter proofing the pen would be most appreciated! Thanks!
I've heard that foxes can chew through chicken wire. We raised chickens, ducks and pheasants in the country but always had a free roaming dog to scare critters away. I am afraid that chicken wire, without a dog, would just not do the trick...maybe I'm wrong?
A heavy duty chicken wire is fine. Dig it down about 12 inches and what I do is to run an electrified wire about 6 inches from the ground around the outside of the fence - about 4" away from the wire.

What string guage would be best for drop B/C?
My guitar is set up for Drop C tuning, but sometimes i got down to Drop B and even Drop A#. Currently I use Gauges 58 to 014 and i have a 6 string guitar which is an LTD EC 1000 Deluxe. So should i stick with gauges 58 to 014? It gets a little bit slacky in drop A# but i don't know if it would be safe to switch to a heavier gauge and tuned upto drop c without snapping my neck. Which would be bad.
I was asking if i could go any heavier like 60 withotu snapping my neck when in drop C
i use 14-70's though i usually tune to A.
tuning to B with 70's is fine, but i dont tune any higher than C#, i don't leave it tuned to C for more than a couple of hours.
using 60's in Drop C should be absolutely fine.
using a few tricks (like raising the tremolo by jamming a cassette tape under it) i have gotten my guitar down to F standard, though it gets pretty slack, and anything lower is pretty unplayable.
also if you have a wide thin neck on your guitar you should be a bit more careful, and take less risks than if you had a thicker neck
