Safe Hidden Key
Why does my boyfriend get drunk and thinks he can drive?
We have been together for 3 years now, he recently went to re-hab and was clean for three months. I hide his keys and wallet from him, so he won't hurt hiself or anyone else. Why can't he
get it through his head that when he drinks it's not safe for him to drive.
When you're drunk - your thought process aren't ... functioning at their best, right? If they were - being drunk wouldn't be a problem. Best thing to do is get rid of the car and encourage the use of public transportation.

Why do we intend to forget things, we have 1billion units?
we intend to learn things and always forget, we have 1trillion units in our storage brains. So, heres the question, we learn things, record it in our brains, but we forget it for a while, the information isn't lost, buts its in the place in our mind that we cant access it? Is it true? I heard it on Times Magizine, and Popular mechanics.

This is so werid, forgeting is not about losing memory, its not about carving into wood. Its about carving into gold and puting it into the bank and locking it. The only problem is that you lost the key to the bank, where the carved gold is at.

Are you sure you're quoting this correctly, because frankly it's a very poor explanation of the facts.

No we don't.
An important part of being able to recall any particular memory is accessing it fairly regularly to keep the relevant neural pathway(s) alive. That's why elderly people can often remember things from the early part of their life even if they can't recall what they had for lunch yesterday.

No we don't.
The average human brain consists of 100 billion cells, a mixture of neurons and glial cells.
Each neuron is estimated to have 10,000-100,000 connections (synapses) with other neurons.
However not all of those neurons and connections are used for information storage.

Firstly we don't even know quite how memories are stored. But it almost certainly has something to do with networks of neurons. If certain connections wither and die, through lack of use, then that particular route to a memory may be lost.
HOWEVER, there is also evidence that suggests that memories either shift around, or are stored in more than one place - or both. So losing one particular pathway isn't necessarily the end of someone's chances to access a particular memory.

This makes no sense whatsoever. For example, does it actually mean "mind", or "brain".

Why "weird"?
Try tying up one of your arms for a couple of weeks so has no movement and gets no exercise at all. Then untie it and see if it's as strong as it was before you started the experiment.
Your brain needs to be kept tuned up, just like your body. Or as the saying goes:
Use it, or lose it.
