Safe Jar
I have an unopened jar of ghee i bought over a year ago the date on jar reads 9-17-07 is it still safe?
I just opened it after almost 2 years it was sealed off but the exp date reads 9-17-07 is ghee supposed to smell a little musty?i am wondering if it is still fresh and safe to eat????

It is safe to eat a full jar of real bacon bits mixed with sour cream?
This is my sisters favorite food. I think it can make her sick. So let's hear it people.
While eating that much fatty food at one sitting may cause some tummy upset there is noting "poisonous" about either Sour Cream, Bacon Bits or the combination thereof.

Basically - No, eating a whole batch of bacon dip is not toxic, you won't be poisioned by it. BUT - It's not good for you either. Years of eating batches of bacon dip can lead to obesity, high blood pressure, heart disease and all kinds of bad things.
So, provided she eats healthy the rest of the time if your sister wants to indulge in a bowl of bacon dip once in a while it probably won't hurt her. Just don't make a habit of it.
