Care package to US troops in Iraq...vacuum sealed food?
i wanted to send some homemade goodies like bread and cookies, i'm wondering if anyone knows if vacuum sealing the food would allow it to keep for a week or two until the package go to Iraq?

When you cook 'hotdogs' that are vacuum sealed when bought do u take them out of the pkt to boil ?
...or do u leave them in the sealed packaging?
Yes, you have to. I boil all of them and put the leftover ones in the fridge. When they cool, I seperate them in 1s' or 2s,' put them in sandwich bags & freeze them. It only takes about 1 minute to reheat..
