Secure Windows
Is there any way you can secure a file using a password on windows XP?
I want to secure a microsoft word file so you need to know a password or something in order to open it. does anyone know how to do this?

Microsoft Word has a feature of its own for password protecting files.
In 2007 Click the Office button (That big round one) and go to Prepare > Encrypt Document.
Now forgive me if this is a bit off, but i haven't used office 2003 in a while. But this is how i think it is done. Go to Tools > Options and i think there is a "Security" tab. If not it could be under "General" but somewhere in that window there is a place for putting in a password.
Once you have done this in either version just close the document down and it is now protected.

Why is Linux more secure than Windows?
I notice a lot of Linux users claim that Linux is a very stable and secure operating system.
Is Linux actually more secure for the average computer user, who isn't very computer savvy? If so, what makes Linux more secure?
..or is it just a case of Linux being targetted less because Windows is a more widespread operating system?
One of the biggest reasons that Linux is more secure than Windows is the users power. By default, in Windows, a user is Administrator; they have the power to add, remove, and modify the system. In Linux (and Mac), a user does not have Root (Administrative) powers. To modify, install, or remove anything in the main system, the user must either login as root or use sudo commands, both of which require a password; this makes it very difficult to create malware/viruses for Linux and Mac because they cannot install themselves into the system without the users permission.
