2006 Chevy Cobalt steering column installation issues?
I have a chevy cobalt.....i had to replace the steering column....the car wont come out of lock position with the new column and key...I dont mean it wont come out of gear....that is not the issue. the car has some type of lock guard that shows up on the dash when you try to start it and it wont turn over. How do i unlock it so the car can start? It is some type of security thing.... gm said the car needs to be reprogrammed to start...how do i do that?
I know they have a chip in the key, perhaps something happen to the key (got wet or something) and now the chip is ruined, wouldnt think you need a reprogramming, unless thats the only key you have and they have to make new ones with a new code.
