Sentry Laptop
My laptop is slow, how do I speed it up?
I have a brand new laptop. Intel Celeron 585 Processor, Windows Vista, 1GB Memory, 80 Gb Hard Drive, Wireless Enabled. It runs really slow from startup. Being new it has absolutely NO files on it apart from Windows, Norton and DRIVE SENTRY. How can I speed it up?

Ditch Norton and Drive Sentry
Use Avast
Add some RAM to keep Vista (I would have to buy a copy of XP as I dont have one)
Review msconfig

Registry problems cause pc slow down.
Registry Cleaner can fix your pc errors.
Clean windows registry can speed up the computer.
Over time, you install new programs, uninstalled unimportant programs, update software's, install new devices,
download files from the web, etcetera, hence embarking all records in the registry system.
This is normal, but it is not wise to leave it untouched.
Once in a while, you have to check and remove files that are no longer in use to maintain the speed of your PC.
Clean registry make pc faster.

downloading parental controls?
I have downloaded sentry parental controls to my daughters new laptop,already had norton 360 installed, it said unable to install correctly so was removing it but kept shuting down,so I switched it off and now it wont switch on at all !! not sure why as norton let it try to install but just kept restarting then shuting down every 20 sec's
Sounds like you have a virus. Try starting the laptop in safemode.
