Sex Crime
Is a public lewdness charge considered a sex crime?
It was classified as a Class A misdemeanor and I didn't have to register, so I'm wondering if it's considered a sex crime, and will it prevent me from renting an apartment?
I got caught making out with someone in the bathroom stall on campus. When the police got called in there, they assumed we were performing oral sex on each other, which wasn't true, but that's what they THOUGHT, so they charged us with public lewdness.
Yes the Class A misdemeanor for Public Lewdness is a sex crime in Texas, but it is not one that you have to register for. See the links below.
