Shotgun Safe
How do I keep a rifle or shotgun safely in my home?
I may need quick access to the weapon, on the other hand, I want it secure from prying eyes and make it virtually impossible to steal. Is there a "magic" lock or safe, or do I need a multi-layered approach to security? Thanks.

storing it loaded is unsafe. Having said that, here is my input:
First, I always carry a handgun. It remains on my person all day. At night, my shotgun comes out of the safe and goes onto a rack beside my bed, that I built to hold it safely and allows me quick access. The shotgun has the mag tube full, the chamber empty and the trigger pulled so that all is required is to pump the action to be hot.The pistol goes on the nightstand after a quick wipe down. In the morning, the pistol goes back in it's holster, and the shotgun goes back in the safe.
This is the safest way I know of to handle the firearms, yet make certain they are where I need them, if I need them.

Can unrifled slugs be fired in a Benelli M2 26" barrell shotgun safely, and with which chokes?
I wonder if the slugs would be safe with the interchangeable chokes.
I didnt think you could use rifled slugs at all in this gun. True or false?
The best chokes for slugs is open and Improved Cylinder. If you want longer range shots they do make rifled chokes too. However I would suggest spending the extra few cents and getting rifled slugs. Why? Because if you want to use it for self defense too then you can fire a rifled slug and buck shot back to back without sacrificing accuracy or wear and tear on the choke rifling.
I know that is what a lot of peace officers use. But with 18-20 inch barrels.
Personally I made a good shot on a wild boar using a Mossberg 870 pump shotgun and rifled slugs. Dropped him like a sack of bricks at over 75 yards.
