Slip Mat Car
Non slip dashboard mat damage.?
I recently bought a little blue non slip dashboard mat. They're designed to be placed on your car dashboard and hold little things like your sunglasses or mobile phone. I had mine on the dashboard for about three weeks or so. Anyway, the other day I removed the mat to dust down my dashboard, and noticed to my horror that the mat had caused a chemical reaction with the vinyl. The vinyl was seriously "burnt" It was crinkled and bumpy. The damaged area was an exact imprint of the mat. I was amazed. I have never heard of anything like this happening to anyone else.
Therefore my question is: Has anyone else had this happen to them? I would be grateful for any similar stories.

I use a similar thing, cut from a sheet I bought on the local market. Never left a mark on the dash, but I did think to wash it with soap and water first as it felt a bit oily.
