Spray Forensics
Ammonia and DNA samples?
Toward the end of 'The Boondock Saints' movie, the two protagonists (who are extremely lucky crime-fighting vigilantes) use a spray-bottle of ammonia to cover up their spilled blood. Somehow, this made it impossible for forensics to acquire a DNA sample from those blood-spots, when they appeared in a later scene.
So my question is: can ammonia neutralize DNA or otherwise make it impossible to take a sample? Or is it really just diluting it to a point where taking a sample is nearly impossible?
It would make taking usable samples more complicated but ammonia itself does not destroy DNA - you would need a strong acidic or basic solution - another option would be heat.
Ammonia would interfere with some detection techniques but not destroy evidence.

I'm not trying to be morbid, but this is a curious question. When someone kills another with a knife (depending on the number of
stab / slash wounds), where does the blood go once it sprays out?
Everywhere near the victim. That's kind of sick tho, dude.
