Steel Handcuffs Police
Are these good handcuffs (Hiatt)?
Well I want to be a cop when I get older. I'm only 16 now, and want to buy a pair of handcuffs to go with my other police memorabilia. I picked out Hiatt Stainless Steel Double Locking Handcuffs (http://www.handcuffwarehouse.com/himo10ststha.html). They wouldn't just be sitting around my room. I'd practice a little with them. But are these good handcuffs?
Also, Should I buy a case for them (http://www.handcuffwarehouse.com/chmo100haca.html)?

But yes, they're decient. I believe that's my department's standard issue. I suggest a pair of ASP speedcuffs. Those things are amazing.
As for the case, no. You'll be issued a case (as well as handcuffs for that matter) when you join up. Since you wont be carring them, there is no need for a case right now. You can just hook umto any kind of snappable or untieable loop on your pants if you plan on carrying them and showing them off. To just carry them, pockets are fine, I've carried mine in there before doing arrest control training, and finally if they truly will just sit around your room, just put um on the desk, or to preserve them use a ziplock bag. No case is nessisary now. Wait.

How do you know if you get arrested?
My friend was caught steeling, i know it was a stupid move on her part. She said she was put in handcuffs and walked to the police station, but didnt get sent to jail. She got a citation and then when home. Does that count as an arrest?
Officers have discretion in some instances, and do not have to put you in jail automatically. Putting someone in jail before they are convicted is only mandatory for serious crimes, and when there is a danger to the community, there is a chance they will re-offend, or they are a flight risk.
If she was given a citation to appear in court, she was arrested.
