Straight Speak

Im going to give my cv in to the cinema later, do i give it in to the staff or ask to speak to the manager?
This one always confuses me because i think when you just give it to anyone you don't know where it ends up, they must get so many. But if you ask to speak to the manager and give it straight to them maybe that will annoy them, and they're too busy for that? I just really want a job there, any help will be much appreciated ![]()
Also, this sounds like a really stupid question, but should i put it in an envelope or just fold it in half to give it to them? Does it matter?
As someone that has hired people before, this is my advice. Dress your best, and this means taking out unusual piercings and jewelry and covering tattoos. If you are a girl, don't wear too much make-up. You may see the manager, and you may not. In that type of environment, you may get hired on the spot if you impress well enough. If you drop off the resume and hope to give it to the manager, then make sure you are coming during a slow time, not during the evening rush. You may want to call ahead and see if there is a best time to drop it off when you can see the manager. Often, managers will have specific time that they are accepting resumes so asking is not unreasonable. If you have a prepared list of questions (such as typical hours of work and responsibilities, benefits offered, advancement potential) then it will help the manager remember you. Good luck! A cinema job is fun, but can be a lot of work too.

A Case of Morals
Does it bother you when Obama looks left right left right left right, but NEVER straight at the camera?
That drives me crazy. When I am watching someone speak on TV, I like for them to at least acknowledge that there is an audience via TV.
Why can't he just look straight ahead sometimes and speak TO the American people?
It is creepy and I thought I was the only one disturbed by this.
