Tactical Self Defense
Is this a legal self defense item?
I was looking into this product for self defense and I was wondering if this is legal in Texas. If you could site your source that'd be great.

It is permissible to possess a "small chemical dispenser sold commercially for personal protection". 10 Texas Penal Code Section 46.01 (14). This would include Pepper spray.
For those in other states considering this question, while pepper spray is not classified as a conventional firearm, there are laws and local regulations governing it possession and use. A call to the city police department is a good place to start. Most municipalities of any size have community safety officers ready, willing, and able to teach local individuals and groups about the law and use of a wide range of non-lethal weapons. Also, remember that state and local laws change. Even though in many states pepper spray can be purchased a number of places and carried by anyone at least 18, keep up to date on local changes in case you find yourself in the position of needing to defend yourself against an attacker and then in court.

Learn to Project Confidence.

Even if you don't know a lot of self defense tactics, the idea is that the more confident you appear, the less of a target you will be. This does not guarantee that you won't be attacked. One of the most important things you need to learn how to do when it comes to ladies self defense is scan your environment to look for potential threats. Sometimes those few seconds can give you an edge in a potential situation.
Beware of Isolated Places.
One thing to remember when considering ladies self defense is to always avoid isolated places. If you can't avoid it and need to go to a place like a parking garage, try not to go by yourself. Assaults often happen in secluded areas such as in parking garages or in allies.
Learn to Trust Your Instincts.
Most people have natural instincts that can help keep them out of danger. However, most people have blocked this instinct out, or they simply don't know how to use it.
