Used Safes If I used Easy Off Oven Cleaner for my microwave when I shouldn't have, is it safe to use the microwave again?
I used Easy Off to clean my oven and then decided to spray the inside of my microwave. I read afterwords that I was not supposed to use that cleaning product in my microwave. Will it be safe to use again? Would I be able to just let the microwave be on with nothing in it, with hopes of burning off any cleaner? Someone help!
Spray the inside of the microwave down with white vinegar and wipe out. Place a bowl of white vinegar in the microwave for 5 minutes. Let the bowl cool down...remove and wipe down the inside of the microwave again. This will remove the oven cleaner smell and residue.

What are some things I should check to make sure this used propane grill is safe to use?
I just got a used propane grill for free. It spent a long hard winter outside under some snow. I've never owned a propane grill so I'm a little nervous about it. I've always had charcoal. The hose appears to be in great shape, glossy black, no cracks. The inside needs a good cleaning. What else should I be looking at on this thing before I connect it to a tank? Or would it be better to just chuck it.
The two most important things to look at are the condition of the burner and make sure the appliance is free of gas leaks.
Remove the burner and clean it up with a wire brush. Inpect it closely, especially around the seams to ensure there are no cracks or areas that are rusted through. Poke through each burner hole with a paperclip (don't use a drill because you could change the opening size and that's not good) and then blow it out with compressed air if possible. Make sure there are no obstructions in the venturi tubes that run between the controls and the burner. You can use a piece of flexible wire to do this. Connect a full cylinder to the grill and make sure the controls are off. Open the cylinder valve and then use a 50/50 solution of dishsoap and water to check all connections to make sure you have no leaks.
If that's all good...Reassemble the grill and fire it up. You should have a nice blue flame that doesn't "dance" off the burner. That's about it, other than to inspect the cooking grids and make sure they aren't rusted. You don't want rust in your food!
