Vault Safe Night
Is it safe to cut and paste information back and forth from and/or to another folder?
I'm wondering if the data could become useless. My wife has Creative Memories and has loads of pictures in the "vault". But now this drive C has become too full to even run a defrag. Last night I cut and pasted this folder to another partition (E) of the same HDD....but about half the way thru I decided to stop the pasting....fearing I would mess up her picture album (Creative Memories). Now I'm thinking I should cut and paste the portion I moved back from E to C.
I thought this would not happen: I was under the impression that if you stopped in the middle of the cycle (like pasting) an action like this NONE of the data would be transferred........I was wrong. It cut about 7GB of data from the C drive......so I now have part of the data on one partition and part of it on another partition.
Why not try copying the lot and see what happens? You can always delete what you don't want and then start again if necessary.
