Versatile Shelf
Being a GREAT producer (Rock and/or Hip-Hop):What is the key, and how do you get potential artists recognized?
Many people idolize the artists, the shiny new package on the shelf. I have a deep admiration for the producers, my personal favorites being Dr. Dre, The Neptunes, Rick Rubin, and Timbaland.
I am an aspiring producer, even if only for fun, and I have been told that I have a "signature" sound on my tracks. While this may be a compliment, I don't want my music to be so easily recognized. Any tips on how to become more versatile in my sound?
Look for rappers that could straight up rap,rhyme,just know what to say ,you have to look for rappers,there are great rappers out there,my advice is to get somebody that can gangsta rap and rap about things,if you get somebody like that you'll have money and talent.You do not want somebody just to have a good chorus but good lyrics.Like B.I.G. he could rap about anything and is one of the best rappers ever.

why are CD's not the most popular product for people to access a poets work....?
i would have thought the number one product anyone would want would include text and audio.
i am not a great poetry lover, but the difference between reading the words and listening to the the author reading his works [ie dylan thomas] is enormous....
of course if the author doesnt care to speak the words, there are are a great many versatile actors who would do a fine recitation.
i dont see why poetry cd's shouldnt be something a shop like waterstones could have on their shelves.....they sell audio-books as it is.
i would think a lot of people who are busy and dont have a lot of time to read..would love to be able to put on a cd of poetry, while the have to do some mundane chores at home.
does anyone agree?
I guess poetry has not taken off as a purely audio experience yet. Most people still equate poetry with reading. Others are used to actually seeing the poetry read by the author as part of a performance. Sometime (depending on the piece), how the piece is read is as important as what is read (the performance is the best part)
