Wall Gun Safe
How safe are muskets at a vacation home?
I have some old style black powder real muskets hanging on the wall of a vacation home for decor. They're screwed on to the wall with brackets because I don't want people pulling them down and playing with them cos they're real.
There is no one in the house for few weeks, or months at a time. I'm wondering if this is a higher risk for people to want to steal, or not really? I'm wondering if I should just leave it or take it down.
The house is not completely isolated its in somewhat of a resort community with a few thousand people. There is an alarm system in the house, also a cleaning service cleans the place every couple of weeks.
I was thinking of also getting some cowboy guns or maybe WW2 guns to put up on the wall also, but I'm not sure.
The firing mechanism in the guns are disabled, but they are still real guns. But good point SCHMOOZIN.
I have done it myself with a cabin that my family owned in a remote location. We only visited there maybe once every two months...then more often during the hunting season.
Unlike you, we never even bothered to bolt it to the wall. We simply built some nice wooden supports to hang the flintlock rifle on overtop of the mantle. In 10 years time, we never had an issue.
The one thing I would recommend is this. Take a cotton ball, like what you might get out of a bottle of asprin or other pills, and use some black shoe dye on it, to dye it black. Then, carefully place it into the muzzle end of the rifle to create a barrier. Why? Because spiders love to make their nests inside the barrels of those things.

Would it be safe if I were to some how connect two of the same sized fish tanks together?
I was gonna remove the left glass wall and frame from the empty tank and do the same with the right side of the other empty tank then glue them together with a hot glue gun. Thus making one 40 gallon tank.

No, it would not be safe. It would not hold. The fish would come flying out, or be poisoned by the glue.
Hot glue will never hold the tank together. A 20 gallon glass aquarium weighs 225 lbs. a 40 gallon breeder aquarium weighs 458 lbs. No household glue is going to hold that. If you did manage to find the glue, chances are it would be toxic to your fish.
Try craigslist.org. You can usually find a 55 gallon aquarium for $50-$100. Try to get one that has only been used for fish, tanks that have housed reptiles are often scratched up.
