Warning Color Signs
I have a cut finger that the ER put a surgicel on to stop bleeding 4 days ago that is oozing.?
I had it rechecked at my GP 2 days later and it looked okay (no oozing). I've been changing the bandage daily, but noticed it has started to ooze a bit from the center of the surgicel. I was traveling, so not able to baby it as much as I would normally have, but did not get it wet at any time. I got back in town this morning and can't get in with my GP until Monday. morning. What warning signs should I look for over the weekend that might make an ER trip a good idea? It's not leaking through the bandage and is redish in color. It does smell funky, but only a bit and you have to get up real close. It's still sensitive to touch, but I sliced a good layer of skin off, so there is no surprise there. The ER docotor gave me pain meds for the week (but I'm not taking them. She also gave me an antibotic that I have been taking 3 times a day - but don't know offhand exactly what it is (I'm at work now).
If the redness starts to spread, if it starts feeling really warm. If it looks like the color maybe darkening around the wound.
That's when you should head to the E.R. Sometimes oozing is just a part of healing, it's just the white cells (your immune system) coming out of th cut.
Just keep an eye on it, and make sure the red area doesn't get bigger.

How long is the chrysalis stage for Tiger swallowtail butterflies?
My son has a caterpillar that just changed into chrysalis. How long before it transforms into butterfly? Is there a warning sign.? Color change in chrysalis? etc...
10 to 14 days. You can tell by the change in color.
