Warning Yard Signs
HELP!!! with dog (poisoning?)?
We used a form of weed killer, at the moment i cant remember what kind it is...but since my husband sprayed the yard, Jake has been vomiting, very lethargic, not eating, when he does drink water he throws it all up....need suggestions on how long this may last or warning signs i should look for...
YOU ARE SEEING THE WARNING SIGNS, I am a veterinary nurse at a emergency clinic and although there are dog friendly weed killers out there, alot can still cause serious problems. The signs are what you mentioned but it could just be a coincidence and he may have another problem.
1 = gastritis, a bug he has picked up, he will need treatment as he will get dehydrated which if left can be fatal.
2 = a FB, he could of eaten something that is stuck or his intestines could be twisted, he will need to see a vet asap as he may need operated on and he will need to be hydrated.
whatever one it is he needs treatment now otherwise he will become very dehydrated and collapse and if it is the weed killer if he doesnt get supportive treatment he may become worse and it may be 2 late for treatment.

What distinguishes a cow's peaceful moo from their "ready to attack" moo?
There is a cow a few houses up the street, and I just know it has it in for me. Many times I have passed that house, and there it is in the yard, sizing me up like its next meal. It flips its tail around in a threatening fashion and moos in a fierce tone.
What I really would like to know is how does one distinguish a cow's regular moo from its warning moo? I have always lived in large cities, and this cow at our neighbour's is quite an unusual thing; I have never been around cows before. If I knew a little more about the warning signs of threatening bovine behaviour, it would really be helpful.
You can't always tell by their moos, Jack. When I was a little girl, I had spent the night with my grandparents who had a farm. I went out with grandma to milk her Jersey cow and the thing chased me..........and with no warning! Not one little moo! I was holding onto grandma's skirt, yelling like a crazy person, and me and that cow just kept running circles around poor old grandma. LOL She finally got me to stop and be still, and the cow stopped too.
Needless to say, I went back in the house while grandma did the milking by herself. And I still don't trust cows, no matter how sweet they look.
