Wooden Rifle Gun
history and value of a working vintage "ben franklin super single shot patented 300 air rifle"?
i have researched for 12 years and can find nothing on the history or value of this air gun .http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y277/RedDunn/benfranklinsupersingleshot300.jpg the rifle shown in this add looks accurate for the model 300 ..the air chamber and barrel appear to be brass the stock is wooden and the bolt trigger and trigger guard are steel .i made out the address in the advertisement , however the business is no longer open .. please help solve ." The Brass Mystery " !! on the end cap of the air chamber is stamped . the benjamin air rifle co. saint louis usa super single shot patented # 300.. the air chamber plunger is sealed with the use of a flat piece of leather contrary to the modern day rubber o-ring ..thank you for your help in my search .
There has never been a "Benjamin Franklin" airgun company.
The "Benjamin Franklin" in quotes is a play(joke) on the Benjamin Air Rifle Company name

Old 30-.06 Rifle identification?
I just got a used rifle from my grand-father when he passed away. I want to know who this rifle was made by? All I can tell you about it is that it has a stainless bull-nosed barrel with bolt action and small internal magazine in the bottom like normal on bolt actions. It has an average shaped wooden stock and as I said it is a 30-.06. My grandpa bought this rifle about 15 years ago from a pawn shop in Alaska. The only identification that I can find on this gun is one symbol stamped into the side of the barrel. This symbol looks very similar to the Hells Angels biker gang symbol. Does this ring a bell with anyone as to the manufacturer. This gun could be 40-50 years old. Could this be an off the shelf rifle with a custom made barrel? Any help is greatly appreciated.
We really need a picture of it.
