Are women spied on by store security in fitting rooms?

Ok, I was just on a site where people talk about their horrible retail job experiences and one person said the security guards spied on girls in the fitting rooms! I've heard this is illegal but do you think security still does it anyway? I have worked in retail before and in training they always show you the high powered cameras in the store and the zoom capabilities. I've always been paranoid that I'm being spied on when I try on clothes... oh noes!
Yes, they do have these cameras with CRAZY zoom! I used to work at this one store and these sleazy security guys zoomed in really close on this sales associate and he was like "See how close we can get? I can even count the money in her register!" But I do sometimes look around like, am I being watched....

I mean I "always feel like somebody's watching me" yeah!! and everytime I enter the fitting room, I look around me, but zoom capabilities?? this is SO illegal. like in well-known stores, could that happen??
